Different roles, same commitment. Meet Martijn.
A client needs help. A team needs direction. Different situations, same mindset.
For Martijn, whether he is working as an account manager at Solutions or coaching at FC Zoetermeer, it always comes down to people, communication, and achieving results together. Because no matter the setting, progress only happens when everyone moves in the same direction.
From client calls to the football pitch
A client calls with a question. Sometimes it’s simple. Sometimes it’s a problem that needs to be solved fast. Either way, they expect one thing: clarity and action.
That’s where Martijn steps in. As an account manager at Uitzendbureau Solutions, he is the first point of contact for his clients. From daily communication to solving unexpected issues and supporting everything around flexible workers, his role revolves around staying in control when things start moving fast.
Maintaining relationships is not where his responsibilities stops. A big part of his work is looking ahead. Which companies need support, where can Solutions make a difference. It is about spotting opportunities before they become urgent problems.
A different kind of team
When the workday ends, Martijn steps into a completely different environment. Not an office, but a football field. Not clients, but a team.
As head coach at FC Zoetermeer, he works with people who are not there because they have to be, but because they want to be. That changes everything.
“In football, you work with volunteers. People who do it out of love for the club. That’s a little different from a work environment.”
That difference in motivation brings a different kind of energy. Less pressure, more passion. But still, the same focus on working together and improving.
Something that was always there
Football has always been part of Martijn’s life. From a young age, it was simply there. Playing, training, being part of a team. Moving into coaching felt like a natural next step. Over time, he developed himself further, followed courses, and grew into the role he has today.
After a day at work, stepping onto the field is not a second job. It is a reset. A way to clear his head while still staying active and connected.
And it is not just about the game. It is about the people around it. The conversations, the shared moments, the feeling of being part of something bigger than just ninety minutes on a pitch.
The same mindset in two worlds
On paper, account management and coaching look completely different. In reality, they are closer than they seem.
Both are about people. About communication. About helping others move forward.
“The part I enjoy most is getting better together.”
In his work, that means supporting clients by connecting them with the right people and helping processes improve. On the field, it means guiding a team, setting goals, and working towards results step by step.
That focus on progress and achieving something together is what drives him in both roles.
Always looking to improve
For Martijn, both paths are still very much in progress.
Within Solutions, he feels he is in the right place. An environment where he gets the space to grow and develop himself further. At the same time, his ambitions in football remain just as strong.
Over the past years, he and his team have taken important steps forward. And that only fuels the motivation to keep pushing.
The mindset is simple. Keep learning. Keep improving. In both worlds.
When work and life connect
Work and personal life are not separate boxes for Martijn. They influence each other all the time.
When you enjoy your work, it naturally reflects on everything around it. It creates energy instead of draining it. Of course, not every day is perfect. But overall, that positive feeling carries through.
At the same time, what happens outside of work brings new perspectives back into it. Different experiences, different insights. It all adds up.
Finding your own balance
There is no fixed formula for balancing work and personal life. What works for one person does not work for another.
For Martijn, football is the key. For someone else, it might be the gym or simply going for a walk.
What matters is making time for something that gives you energy. Something that clears your head and keeps you moving.
Because in the end, balance is not about dividing your time perfectly. It is about making sure both sides give you something back.
